Pamplet to educate school-aged
kids on fast fashion

The topic I chose to pitch my project towards was the concept of fast fashion. I was able to draw from my personal interests in clothing and shoes to come up with a topic that I felt would contribute to an important and worthwhile learning tool for high school aged students (years 7-12). I decided to aim the project towards this age group due to the fact that this is a time often characterised by people developing their own own sense of fashion and gaining the independence required to purchase their own clothing and make informed decisions based off their own beliefs and values.

As the topic of fast fashion can be quite heavy, my aim was to create an outcome that was sufficiently informative, yet equally engaging for younger students. With this in mind, I chose to formulate my learning tool in the form of a brochure/ pamphlet, with my thinking being that it would be something that could get handed out around schools for kids to take home.
Through visual inclusions such as the mobile phone and text/ speech bubbles, my final outcome creates connections to the present and to the current generation of students, whilst also linking in subjects of the past. This helps to highlight the growing importance and pressure on this generation to be mindful and eager to contribute to a more sustainable future for themselves and generations to come. To do this, I focused heavily on colour and the use of engaging imagery to capture the attention of my audience and break up important segments of text.

The colour scheme I opted for makes use of both greens and blues, which are commonly genderless colours in an attempt to ensure my final outcome did not restrict its overly conscious younger audience.
